Missouri State Names Maschhoff to Head Investments
The Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel has appointed a new director of investments (DOI).
Andrew Maschhoff, of Floral Park, N.Y., will assume the role as head of investments for the state treasury, effective Jan. 2, a release said.
Jon Galloway, Treasury spokesperson, told IMW today that previous DOI duties were held by state Deputy Treasury Mark Mathers. With the new appointment, investment responsibilities have been transferred to Maschhoff.
In a phone conversation with IMW today, Zweifel said the new appointment would help his office make strategic investments for the state’s $3.4 billion portfolio.
He added that Maschoff’s addition would help provide additional investment guidance for the treasurer, who currently sits on numerous state pension boards.
“For the past nine months, we have been working hard in my administration [to find someone to fill that role],” Zweifel said. “We’re happy we found him. I think Andrew is able to do the job. He has a fixed income background and strong Midwestern roots.”
Prior to joining the state Treasury, Maschhoff served as a director, VP and a senior portfolio manager for numerous fixed-income divisions at Deutsche Bank.
